Last Saturday we had the honour of attending a very special event, the Anne Frank Exhibition at Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa.
The exhibition Anne Frank: A History for Today shares the story of Anne Frank and her family during one of the darkest times in history. It gives a glimpse into their life in hiding and the strength Anne showed through her words. Her diary continues to inspire people around the world with its message of hope, courage, and humanity.
Hosted by Beechwood Cemetery together with the Anne Frank House, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and students from the Ottawa Catholic School Board, this exhibition is a strong reminder of why remembrance, education, and human rights are so important. It encourages us to reflect on how we treat one another and to always stand up against discrimination and hate.
If you ever visit Amsterdam or anywhere in the Netherlands, the Anne Frank House is truly worth a visit. Standing in the place where Anne wrote her diary is something you will never forget.
